Lauren Blakely – Sweet Sinful Nights – Book Review (ARC)

Publisher: Lauren Blakely Books, 2015.
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense.
Length: 350 pages.

Oh the intrigue. This series is going to be brilliant. Lauren Blakely introduces us to the Paige-Prince family. Three brothers and one sister with darkness in their past, forcing them to adopt the new name of Sloan. This first book is Shay Sloan’s story (A.K.A. Shannon Paige-Prince).

Ten years ago, Shannon was engaged to her dream man, Brent Nichols. They were both on the cusp of starting married life and bright, new careers when Brent made the most monumental mistake of his life, losing Shannon in the process.

Ten years later, she dances back into his life as gorgeous and vibrant as ever. He wants her back. He never wanted to lose her. Now he just has to convince her that he’s worth the second chance.

Lauren Blakely teases the reader relentlessly with the building sexual tension in this story, but in doing so she pieces this broken relationship back together making it a truly strong bond. These two are the best of friends and never should have parted. High emotions, desperation and loose tongues cause so much avoidable harm.

I found this couple to be so compelling. They are both high stakes players in the entertainment industry and the passion between them is undeniable, but they have a sweet connection that is rare. Shannon’s life has been repeatedly battered by tragedy, but she keeps on fighting. Brent is her sunshine. She is his inspiration, his everything. It’s hard for her to trust anyone, considering her past. When the secrets of that past muddy the waters and challenge Brent’s unscathed life, he has to prove that he has matured and can handle the burden with her.

There is never a dull moment between the intrigue and the building sexual tension ready to ignite at any opportune moment, I was absolutely enthralled. The perfect blend of romance, deep friendship and burning passion. Bring on Sinful Desire!

5.5 Flares.

Rachel Van Dyken - Elude - Trailer Reveal

The sixth book in the internationally bestselling Eagle Elite Series.
*Interconnected Stand Alone*

Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married--I offered to shoot her.

Ten hours before our wedding--I made a mockery of her dying wish.

Five hours before we were going to say our vows--I promised I'd never love her.

One hour before I said I do--I vowed I'd never shed a tear over her death.

But the minute we were pronounced man and wife--I knew.

I'd only use my gun to protect her.

I'd give my life for hers.

I'd cry.

And I would, most definitely, lose my heart, to a dying girl---a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.

I always believed the mafia would be my end game--where I'd lose my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.

Or the beginning of something beautiful.

The beginning of her.

The end of us.

Erin Noelle - Spark Book 1 in The Fire on the Mountain Series.

Meet Crew & Hudson in -
SPARK Book 1 in the Fire on the Mountain Series

Blurb
I'm failing.
My younger brother is getting worse, and my job - my duty - is to help him at all costs. We've tried everything modern medicine has to offer and nothing works.
Nothing.
Deciding to turn to unconventional treatments, we end up at Fire-on-the-Mountain, a holistic resort deep in the Rockies.
In our search for medical marijuana, I find beautiful, free-spirited Hudson Shavell - a girl who may not only hold the key to heal my brother, but to fix me as well. Even though I can't afford distractions right now, she's all I can think about. All that I want.

It's funny how everything can change with one little SPARK.

***Though Spark is the first book in the Fire on the Mountain Series, it is a stand alone novel***
***Intended for mature audiences only***

Flame - Book 2 in The Fire on the Mountain Series is coming August the 6th!

Blurb
I’m soaring.
After years of hard work and determination, I am exactly where I want to be in life. As the top ranked Freestyle Motocross rider in the world, I have more money than I could ever dream of spending and gorgeous women throwing themselves at me in every city I land. I have everything I could ever want.
Everything except her.
While in Breckenridge for my best friend’s wedding, I was introduced to Dakota Shavell, a friend of the bride-to-be, and from the moment our blue gazes met, sparks flew.
What I initially intended to be a single steamy night together turned into a scorching two week road trip to New Orleans with a sassy-mouthed blonde. Being between her legs gave me a bigger adrenaline rush than I’d ever gotten from flying through the air while straddling a bike.
It was supposed to just be fun, a good time. I planned to walk away unchanged.
But it was more. Feelings I never intended to have got involved, and I’ll never be the same.
Yet, I still walked away.
Except now I’m injured and my outlook has changed. Priorities have become clear.
And I’m going back to reclaim her…to show her that together we can make the fire between us burst into flames.

Erin Noelle - Spark (Fire on the Mountain Book 1) - Book Review

Publisher: Erin Noelle, 2015.
Genre: New Adult.
Length: 252 pages.

Crew Elliot and his family have moved from Dallas to the mountains of Colorado in search of a clean lifestyle and treatment for Caleb, Crew's younger brother. Caleb suffers with epilepsy. They’ve exhausted all the traditional methods of treatment and are now going for the unconventional. Marijuana. They arrive at Fire On The Mountain, a resort run by a hippie family with too many beautiful daughters to count, who also happen to grow and sell marijuana for their dispensary. Crew is drawn immediately to one daughter in particular. Hudson Shavell. She's a joint-toking, modern day Rapunzel with a helper mentality. Hudson is prepared to do whatever she can to help Caleb and his family. She wouldn’t mind helping herself to his older brother, Crew. He’s a little bit dangerous and a lot tempting. Even with her lack of experience, something tells her she'll have to be careful not to give too much.

What a ride! I had to have some recovery time after reading this emotional story. I felt pulled apart before being put back together, in a slightly different order. If you or anyone you know is affected by epilepsy, you’ll probably feel the same.

The legalization of marijuana for medicinal use has been a hot topic here in Australia, recently. Erin Noelle illustrates the human realities of this issue. I wanted to join the fight for Caleb to have some normalcy and relief. Reading how Hudson and Crew’s families formed a solid unit of support for Caleb's cause, pulled at my heartstrings.

Hudson has the tendency to be a martyr. She’ll suffer to ease others’ pain and work herself ragged to help where she’s needed. She’s an inherently peaceful soul, but when her world is shaken up, she shows her strength.

Crew will sacrifice whatever he has to so he can help his family. He and Hudson have that in common, but Crew's sacrifices are all for his brother. His world revolves around Caleb's needs. When he meets Hudson he finds that he might actually want something for himself, but reconciling the two proves to be difficult.

This story is so different. It is a definite stand out, in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to the next in the series, Flame.
Brilliant book, Erin Noelle.

5.5 flares.
